In a cozy place like a park

The “Kaitakushi Brewery,” the forerunner of the Sapporo Group, was established in Sapporo, Hokkaido, in 1876. Ever since its founding, we have put our utmost efforts into beer manufacturing with heartfelt gratitude toward the natural blessings of Hokkaido and the local citizens. The Brewery changed its name to the Sapporo Factory (later Brewery No. 1) in 1906 and established the Sapporo Factory No. 2 (later Brewery No. 2) in 1966. The area around Brewery No. 1 underwent rapid urbanization which caused the factory to transfer to Eniwa City in 1989. With this, the site was redeveloped. In this way, the Sapporo Factory was reborn as a colorful facility complex with an all-weather atrium in April 1993.

Regional communication

The Sapporo Factory is engaged in an initiative titled "Park Project" to improve the attractiveness and vitality of the local community.

My Little Garden

This is an initiative to select flowers, plant them, grow them, and enjoy workshops on the grounds of the Sapporo Factory. The garden is designed to add colorful touches of flowers to the Creative East Area, where the Sapporo Factory is located, and to foster connections among participants, mainly families from the neighborhood and others who cooperate with this project, by offering them opportunities to have contact with flowers and soil.

Cleanup activities to watch over children

With the aim of protecting local children from accidents and crimes and creating a clean and litter-free community, we watch over children from nearby elementary schools as they leave school while picking up trash. We will continue to expand the circle of activities through collaboration with neighboring companies and organizations.

Creative East Aozora Festival in Sapporo Factory

An event to create and enjoy together with local vendors, companies, and others who support Sapporo Factory. In addition to product sales and workshops, there are also performances and other events that liven up the venue and are enjoyed by local residents.

Space development with a uniquely Hokkaido essence

The symbol of the Sapporo Garden Park, the red brick former sugar factory, was constructed in 1890. It became the processing plant for the Sapporo Brewery (the current Sapporo Breweries) in 1905 and was reborn as the Kaitakushi Brewery Memorial Hall (the current Sapporo Beer Museum) and the Sapporo Biergarten in 1966. It is currently a “Hokkaido heritage” site and is one of the most famous Sapporo tourist attractions.
The manufacturing facilities of the Sapporo Brewery No. 2 were consolidated in the Hokkaido Factory (Eniwa City) in 2003. The discarded site was redeveloped and turned into the Sapporo Garden Park which opened in 2005. The red brick buildings and age-old forests were preserved at this redevelopment project, aiming for urban development with lush greenery and a uniquely Hokkaido essence.

Regional contribution initiatives

The Sapporo Garden Park boasts a space of 130 thousand square meters, in which the Sapporo Beer Museum, Sapporo Biergarten, and the shopping mall “Ario Sapporo” can be found. The area also features the practice facility for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters baseball team, making it an enormous commercial complex. The facilities are popular with local citizens as an open, green space for relaxing, and is also known as a new Sapporo sightseeing attraction.

Ebisu Garden Place, which offers a high-quality living experience beyond commercial and cultural facilities, with residential areas, offices, hotels, and more, was opened in 1994 as a large-scale complex. In anticipation of its 30th anniversary, a new target audience, called "Life Creators" (those who live, work, and visit Ebisu town while enjoying their daily lives in their own unique way), has been identified. With "Center Plaza" at its core, the complex has been reborn as a town that creates a new way of living. The concept of this renewal is "Life Creators' Living," a gathering place where people can interact and connect in a relaxed manner.

Formation of local communities using the local SNS application "Piazza"

On July 15, 2020, Sapporo Real Estate launched "Piazza," a regional SNS application for the Ebisu area, to promote the formation of a new regional community that integrates the digital and the real.
By utilizing local information, mutual aid in times of disaster, and a group function for sharing goods, we aim to strengthen the system for delivering useful information and connections to local people.
In the future, we will not limit ourselves to the digital world, but will also use "Piazza" to hold events for members and develop a new community.

Start of Management and Operation of "Shibuya Ward Ebisu Minami 1 Park"

As part of its urban development project in the Ebisu area, Sapporo Real Estate Development was selected through a proposal by Shibuya Ward and has been working on the "Shibuya Ward Ebisu Minami 1 Park Improvement Project" since April 2021.
On September 1, 2022, the park was reopened utilizing the Park-PFI system as a park centered around a "play park" concept, where children can learn and grow through free play and unrestricted imagination, aiming to be a space for the next generation. The park includes facilities such as a café, which provides a relaxing space for various visitors. With the renewal, we aspire to create a park that continues to be cherished by the local residents, Ebisu area businesses, and everyone in the Ebisu community, fostering a sense of involvement and collaboration in park management.
